**Keyboard Shortcuts for Managing Macros:**

**Macros in General:**

|Cm  |Edit Macro: Invokes the Graphic Testpad as a Macro Editor.  At the beginning of the command line is the picture name with attached macros after it. (Double clicking on a picture containing a macro in the Stock List has the same effect as Cm,whereas double clicking on picture without macros is the same as the keystrokes Cg. |
| n  |Create New Macro: The first selected picture serves as the base picture. A command line version of the Macro Editor is called by the newly created macro and the name of the base picture appears in the command line.  One uses this command line to add modifications directly to the picture before the new macro file is saved.  Alternatively, one can merely change the name of the base picture and create a new picture resource based on the original picture. |


**Macros for Electric Locomotives:**

|Ce  |Creates a macro for an electric locomotive:  The selected picture should contain the entire locomotive and directly below it should be the _SAR picture (same file name, albeit with an additional _SAR suffix). What this function does is to create a new picture where the name of the first picture has " **< Name_of_Second_Picture**" added after it in its command line. The Way code is changed automatically to E for the locomotive and S for the pantograph.|


**Movement Macros:**

The phase pictures must be selected and in the assembled in the sequence that they will be used in.  All three commands change the Way code for the phase pictures to **P**, and the new macro created inherits the Way parameter of the first phase picture.

| <  |Creates a macro moving left: When the vehicle picture is composed of phase pictures showing only the left side of the vehicle, then this creates a macro with them that only travels "forwards."  If the program generates this vehicle travelling right, the phase pictures are mirrored.  The pictures are joined justified to their left sides inside the macro with the **+<**  symbol. At the end of the macro the **+[>R]** is automatically added.|
|Cp  |Creates a directionally dependent movement macro: A macro is created which can travel in both directions.  The phase pictures comprising the macro must be of identical length or they will be overlaid justified to their centre points because the pictures are only joined inside the macro with the **+** sign.|
| >  |Creates a macro moving right: When the vehicle picture is composed of phase pictures showing only the right side of the vehicle, then this creates a macro with them that only travels "forwards."  If the program generates this vehicle travelling left, the phase pictures are mirrored.  The pictures are joined justified to their right sides inside the macro with the **+>** symbol. At the end of the macro the **+[<R]** is automatically added.|


**Movement Macros, Which Correspond to the Naming Conventions of the MM&MM Screensaver:**

These functions assist the user in creating macros for moving vehicles that correspond to the naming conventions used by the MM&MM screensaver program.  The first picture either has the base name, or the base name with the suffix  _0. All further phase pictures should have the identical base name, but with an underscore character and the number of the phase as a suffix. Contrary to the MM&MM screensaver, Traffic can create movement macros out of more than four phase pictures.  Up to 31 phase pictures are possible. 

If there is a picture with the same base name, but with _SAR or  _0_SAR as a suffix, then an electric locomotive will be created.  If the pictures have version identifiers, then these must all correspond to the same version.

The commands do not create a new macro, but rather change the macro of the first (base) picture to create the desired effect. If the base picture already possesses a Stock List macro, then these commands cannot be used.

| %  |creates a macro moving left: The macro is created from source pictures showing the **left** side of the vehicle and creates a macro moving left. If the program generates this vehicle travelling right, the phase pictures are mirrored. The pictures are aligned on their left sides.|
|B%  |creates a macro moving left: The macro is created from source pictures showing the **left** side of the vehicle and creates a macro moving left. If the program generates this vehicle travelling right, the phase pictures are **not** mirrored. The pictures are aligned on their left sides. (useful if you have pictures for both sides of a locomotive and therefore do not need to mirror the picture to create a view of the other side)|
| &  |creates a directionally dependent macro: A vehicle macro is created which travels the same in both directions (diesel or electric).|
| /  |creates a macro moving right: The macro is created from source pictures showing the **right** side of the vehicle and creates a macro moving right. If the program generates this vehicle travelling left, the phase pictures are mirrored. The pictures are aligned on their right sides.|
|B/  |creates a macro moving right: The macro is created from source pictures showing the **right** side of the vehicle and creates a macro moving right. If the program generates this vehicle travelling left, the phase pictures are **not** mirrored. The pictures are aligned on their right sides. (useful if you have pictures for both sides of a locomotive and therefore do not need to mirror the picture to create a view of the other side)|
