Von 1970 bis 1981 verkehrten die D-Züge Den Haag-Rotterdam-Eindhoven-Venlo-Köln häufig in dieser Zusammensetzung: Elok der Baureihe 1500 und Wagen des Typs Plan K (Reihe AB 7351-7380) und ehemaliger Liegewagen Plan N (Reihe B 7001-7025). In Venlo kam dann meistens eine Locomotive der Baureihe 110 für den Zug.
