Es gibt 28 Lokomotiven dieser Mehrsystem-Loks, von denen 20 mit der Bezeichnung E412
im Dienst der FS stehen.
Die anderen 8 Loks waren eigentlich für Polen bestimmt, heißen EU 43 und sind zur Zeit
an die private italienische RTC (Rail Traction Company) vermietet.

Eingesetzt im Güter- sowie im Personenverkehr.
